I. Comparison on lossy compression

Here reported are testing results using the standard Kodak image Birds (768x512x24). For JPEG2000 and JPEG, we used LuraWave SmartCompress. Data in the test settings are: quantization parameter for Lucid, file size (KB) for JPEG2000, quality factor for JPEG and Google WebP, quantization factor for JPEG XR. (*) WebP reaches 250:1 when quality factor = 1.

2.  “It is amazing!” — Dr. William Pearlman (Professor, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute)

3.  “I believe it would be very appropriate for you to bring your technology to the Advanced Image Coding (AIC) ad hoc group.”  — Mr. Lou Sharpe (Chair, ISO JPEG Committee)

IV. Comparison face to face

Original image (Kodak Birds, 768x512x24)
JPEG result at compression ratio = 100 : 1
Lucid result at compression ratio = 100 : 1
JPEG XR (Microsoft) result at compression ratio = 100 : 1
Google WebP result at compression ratio = 100 : 1
